Individual coaching for leaders

In 45 minute sessions, we identify areas of focus and engage in a series of exercises that help you:

  • clearly understand your current brand,

  • identify your core values, and

  • draft your Leadership Declaration.

Sessions are tailored to the client’s needs. Focus areas include:

  • building confidence in new leaders,

  • enhancing executive presence,

  • strengthening adaptability and resilience,

  • navigating the transition from individual contributor to leader,

  • understanding the importance of role clarity and expectation setting,

  • mastering the performance appraisal process and creating feedback loops,

  • conducting difficult conversations with professionalism and confidence,

  • leading strategically with influence rather than authority, and

  • succession planning and culture strengthening.

Sessions take place bi-weekly or monthly, and the number of sessions can be tailored to the needs of the client.

Hogan personality assessments

As a certified Hogan Coach, I can incorporate the Hogan series of assessments into the coaching engagement. The Hogan tools provide insights into how leaders are perceived by others, identifying potential “derailers.” The results are used to support increased self-awareness and intentional leadership.

The Hogan Group Report, for teams, provides insights into how members perceive and interact with one another. The Group Report provides an overview of the individual reports, including a graphic representation that emphasizes differences in perception. It can be a powerful tool for strengthening collaboration.

Leadership development programs

With input from your leadership team, I set up an internal leadership development program that aligns with your organization’s goals for:

  • supporting on-going growth of your leadership team,

  • retaining your top talent, and

  • planning for succession.

These programs can include:

  • Individual coaching

  • Group coaching

  • Workshops for current and/or emerging leaders focusing on:

    • building confidence in new leaders,

    • enhancing executive presence,

    • strengthening adaptability and resilience,

    • navigating the transition from individual contributor to leader,

    • understanding the importance of role clarity and expectation setting,

    • mastering the performance appraisal process and creating feedback loops,

    • conducting difficult conversations with professionalism and confidence, and

    • leading strategically with influence rather than authority.

  • Speaker series featuring internal and/or external speakers who are admired industry leaders, invited to share their story, advice, and insights.

  • Assessments followed by debrief sessions, action plan development, and accountability check-in sessions.

360 Assessments

A comprehensive 360 feedback survey includes:

  • Confidential individual interview with identified stakeholders (internal and external) to obtain input regarding the perception and impact of individual leaders and/or leadership teams.

  • A comprehensive feedback report and debrief session outlines trends, strengths, challenges, understanding of organizational culture, and alignment on stated mission.

  • Follow-up sessions to develop action plans based on the feedback.

Client Testimonials

“I have loved working with Cathy - she was insightful, challenged me (in a good way) and helped me articulate my goals and thoughts much better than before.”

FAQs

What is involved in a typical coaching engagement?

Each coaching engagement is tailored to the needs and goals of the client. Often,  we begin with an assessment tool, such as the Hogan Assessment and/or a 360-type assessment which  provide important feedback to inform the coaching sessions, which are usually scheduled bi-weekly for one hour.

How long does a coaching engagement usually last?

I recommend 10-12 bi-weekly sessions. These sessions are one hour in length and often follow a discovery phase in which assessment tools are used to provides feedback and identify the client's goals, values, strengths and opportunities.

What is expected of the client during the coaching engagement?

The client commits to showing up authentically in each session and to engaging in an open, trusting relationship with the coach.

The client also commits to completing the "work" assigned between sessions, which can include journaling, reading articles, listening to podcasts, and completing reflection exercises.
